Journalist’s Resources

The Journalist’s Resource is based at Harvard and sends out a weekly email and Twitter feed, highlighting academic research on a journalistic theme.

‘We surface scholarly materials that may be relevant to media practitioners, bloggers, educators, students and general readers. Our philosophy is that peer-reviewed research studies can, at the very least, help anchor journalists as they navigate difficult terrain and competing claims. In 2013 the American Library Association named us one of the best free reference Web sites’.

This piece ‘Six Web-based tools and applications that can help you communicate visually’ offers some useful reporting and communications tools, some of which we have already highlighted, and some of which are new. Also useful are the tip sheets and data resource sections which contain a broad selection of guides and essays.
