The University of Edinburgh is hosting a one-day summit exploring data science opportunities within the Media sector. The Event will connect researchers in data science with media professionals and technology companies. Featuring keynote talks, breakout sessions and demos the Summit is in collaboration with The Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s National Institute in Data Science comprising of the Universities of Cambridge, Edinburgh, Oxford, UCL and Warwick.
BBC News Labs will be part of a couple of panels.

What themes will be covered?
Everything from technical challenges in machine learning to challenges around personalisation, ethics, privacy and security. Panel topics will focus on Data Journalism, Audience Engagement and Extracting Value from Media.
