Aims
How might we use Maker hack sessions at BBC News Labs?
Maker sessions
The News Labs team, with BBC Connected Studio, ran Maker sessions during 2014 and early 2015 to explore Maker Hack Sessions; solving problems, experimenting, and learning about computing by linking physical objects, simple computers, and code.
The sessions were a success.
We may revisit in combination with The Juicer, as a route to engage young people in digital journalism.
Results
- While the sessions were a success, we didn't find an immediate, beneficial and scalable route to pursue these further.
